TRIP – Piankatank River And Harper Creek Kayaking
I saw some new signs go up at the intersection of Route 33 and Route 17 this spring for a public boat landing. The arrows pointed into Mathews County which means it was probably on the Piankatank River. I couldn’t find much information online and so I was curious. Since the stinging nettles are out thicker than I’ve seen them in years on Urbanna Creek, it seemed like a good time to make a visit to the Piankatank River!

We have been feeling the effects of the wildfires out west as the Jet-stream is blowing the smoke all the way to Virginia. It has made the days hazy all week, even though there is no rain forecast. The pictures are not as clear as you might expect for summer in Virginia.
